Beyond Chess Puzzle 008 Solution
Beyond Chess offers the opportunity to hide checkmates because sometimes, it’s only mate after a tile/square is shifted, removing the king’s only escape. This scenario is a great example. Black’s king has found himself in quite a difficult situation! The Black Knight on f4 jumps to d5, placing the king in check. The king cannot move to f5 because of the pawn on e4. Then, black shifts the g6 square to h6, removing the king’s only escape, making it checkmate!
