Beyond Chess Puzzle 009 Solution
Beyond Chess offers the opportunity to hide checkmates because sometimes, it’s only mate after a tile/square is shifted, removing the king’s only escape. This scenario is a great example. The pressure is on for both black and white, but it’s white’s turn and checkmate is in reach! The white queen moves from g6 to h7, placing the king in check, and is protected from capture by the knight. White then shifts the f7 tile to f6, removing the king’s only avenue of escape, making it checkmate!
